Lotzburgh - Modules 7,8,9,10 - Farm
Fig. 1 - Module 7 will house the farm with all buildings and all necessary facilities. Towards the background again runs the road and the double-track main line.
Fig. 2 - The farm area is built up slightly elevated. The base consists of 4 5mm thick polystyrene insulation boards from the hardware store. The residential house will be slightly elevated again.
Fig. 3 - here from the other side.
Fig. 4 - The area around the road is almost finished design.
Fig. 6 - Around the residential house, the landscape has received its first order. Behind the residential house, the forest strip is continued by the pre-module. This gives rise to a nice separation of the motifs.
Fig. 7 - The barn and tool shed made by Andy. Behind the buildings the terrain slopes slightly. Meadows and the transition to the fields of modules 8 and 9 will follow. In the meantime this module was transported again by Frank to Andy. Bernd will follow at the weekend and finish the modules at Andy.
Fig. 8 - Around the residential building the greening is finished. The last of 3 jobs was done with an electostat from Busch. At the edge of the module, the forest strip from the Vormudul was continued. More deciduous trees and bushes complete the whole. Small scenes will follow.
Fig. 9 - Here again from the track side.
Fig. 10 - Our Stefan (Chief MEC Erkrath) is now also farmer with probably the largest landholding in Lotzburgh! But he has nothing to say in Lotzburgh! Here reigns as mayor the namesake of the place...BERND!
The first soil application has also been made here. The silage tower was made by Andy from a kit. Like the barn, little wooden strip by little wooden strip!
Fig. 11 - The courtyard side. Behind the buildings begins a larger pasture area, which is bordered on both long sides by hedges and a first field part that will continue over the next 2 modules...3 meters. Along the railroad line a field path is led.
Fig. 12 - Access to Farm is via a level crossing from the road. This crossing, of course, still receives its security.
Fig. 13 - Nearly finished (fences and parts of the fence are still missing). The first local passes by.
Fig. 14 - Construction of the next module (8) has begun. The substructure of the road. The nails are not newly developed guardrails, but after gluing round timbers hold them in place until the glue dries. The plaster for the road is poured into the space between them.
In the next time, the switch drives, the switch pilot and the necessary cabling will be installed. After that Fank will bring the module to Bernd at the Baltic Sea.
Fig. 15 - The module did not come to the Baltic Sea, but Manuela, Bernd, Baju and Cheyenne again for a week to Andy. Beans was built at our club boss Stefan.....driving, shunting, driving...and! building at Andy in the basement.
Great when everything is white! The edge is modeled (styrofoam, cut with hot cutter and covered with plaster bandages).
Fig. 16 - The road also has its layer of plaster (Smooth-It from Woodland). The first layer 1 part water/2 parts Smooth-It smoothed with a Japan spatula. Pour on the 2 layer more liquid (like Yogourt) and smooth it.
Fig. 17 - Some small rocks are modeled in. Edge painted with "nato-olive-green" as a base. The rocks have a "granite paint" from Heki and are "aged" with dark paint wet in wet. The road is painted with Heki road paint (paint roller). The rocks are granulated at the very end.
Fig. 18 - Under the grass layer is a mixture of Woodland litter, sand and gravel from Asoa. Then with the electrostat grass fibers and bushes from Woodland. This is followed by more bushes and foliange.
Fig. 19 - The base for the fields etc. is again a styrofoam plate. This was trimmed at the edges to the railroad line again with the hot cutter. The edges to the farm area were adjusted with plaster. After that! NATO-OLIVE-GREEN! After this module comes another module with fields. To loosen up the whole thing, a small rock was modeled in, in front of which the field path is led to the edge of the plant. Rock made of plaster, let it dry slightly, press in contours with a pallet knife. When everything is dry with a chisel break the edges and smooth the surfaces. Then rock color. With us - granite!
Fig. 20 - The dirt road in the shell. Grasses and bushes follow. The rock was again aged wet in wet. Then with green paint and dry brush moss spots and set with Weis "lights". All colors acrylic paints from the artist supply. All the sprinkling material is from Woodland. Sand and stones from Asoa or the Baltic Sea! The still white intermediate space behind the suspenders can only be designed when the tracks of the small industrial area following on the next two modules....Here are for months switches from Walthers and track nails! in arrears. Now promised for early September...Then Bernd is also back in the Rhineland.
Fig. 21 - The terrain around the rock and dirt road "almost" finished! Grass application again with the electostat. The bushes are from old cut trees. Still missing some firs and foliange....and of course the fields. We wanted to save work! So ready mats. If they are ever delivered. We thought that we would only have this problem with the Americans - fiddlesticks! Module 9, which can be seen in the picture, connects to this module.
Fig. 23 - The landscape behind the farm buildings is taking shape. The paddock gets another windmill. The first fields are painted...the rest will follow when Faller delivers again. We are about in May. The fields are still green. At most the rape is starting to bloom.
Fig. 22 - The view from the farm over meadows and fields. At the end of this module a small forest tongue protrudes into the fields.
Fig. 24 - This forest tongue on rocky ground is also ready and forms the module conclusion. The already blooming cornfield is ready on module 9. This and the following module 10 will host a small industrial area with agricultural processing and storage facilities. These are the last Lotzburgh modules
Fig. 25 - Still on module 8 is the last turnout and an extraction track in locomotive length for the industrial area in Lotzburgh. The tracks are only sanded. The green areas still get more "green jobs", bushes and trees.
Fig. 26 - The future operator of the industrial zone! The Lotzburgh-based K&AW is already testing the trafficability of the tracks.
Fig. 27 - Module 9 is dominated by a large grain silo with its tracks. Behind it is the situation in Fig. 25.
Fig. 28 - At the end of the last Lotzburg module, the three-track main line disappears into the tunnel. Behind it follows the turnaround module, which is also completely tunnelled over. The tunnel portals and the walls are made of plaster and come from Walthers. We sawed them to our needs and painted them. Behind them is a wooden box to which the plaster parts were glued. In the tunnels the tunnel tubes are reproduced.
Fig. 29 - The road running along the entire side of the plant also disappears in a tunnel. This is built in a modern form.
Fig. 30 - Before the freestyle comes the duty! Painting and ballasting the rails. Harry sacrifices himself!
Fig. 31 - Fits!
Fig. 32 - Walls, tunnels are installed. Styrofoam and plaster are also installed. The module ends at the transverse edge that is still clearly visible in the plaster. The remaining piece (wedge-shaped) comes over the tunnel of the following turning module. At the end of this "wedge", a backdrop is installed again.... The rest is not revealed yet!
Fig. 33 - Rock formations and the first green are applied.
Fig. 34 - The small industrial area is finished, except for some equipment and more greenery. Andy and Stefan are busy with the acceptance.
Fig. 35 - Another look back. Ice house, storage shed, open-air loading track and a fruit and vegetable trade and transshipment. The "little one" is busy.
Fig. 36 - The area above the tunnel is completed.
Fig. 37 -Is the continuation of picture 36. Here ends with a backdrop the plant part Lotzburgh. The "Piece of cake" is already on the turning head.
Fig. 38 - The area between the farm, industrial area and tunnel is also finished.
Fig. 39 - This part of the layout from the Lotzburgh side in overview. Still missing is a signal box and some equipment. This will follow soon.
