We perform all airbrush work with copmpressors. The compressor Meca Deco of Bernd seen here in the picture is from nuair at a price of about 100 EUR. The compressor can be adjusted well and has a usable water separator. The spray guns are from different manufacturers. Here you should spend at least about 50 EUR. For this you get a reasonable nozzle needle. The layout of the gun is a matter of taste (directly screwable paint glass containers or individually fillable paint containers). Andy is our airbrush specialist. Andy uses a much more expensive professional model as his compressor. This compressor is much more powerful (better water separator, does not get warm.). Don't forget to provide good ventilation in the work area. A mouth and nose protection would be recommended. In his hobby basement, Andy has built a spray box (a large cardboard box will do) with a turntable. Above the box is an old household exhaust hood with an exhaust vent to the outside. However, no module fits in this box! In our club we use an old diving air cylinder with the appropriate fittings as a compressed air dispenser. The gun is connected directly to this. Good to the one who has a diver as president!

Weathering work on a Big Boy
Our club member Frank (also a American Railroad fan!) was unhappy with the factory Rivarossi "weathered" Big Boy. Andy didn't like it either. So off to Andy. Andy completely stripped the paint off the bike and then re-weathered it. Frank is now happy with his "new" Big Boy.
